Power steering pump

Not great to be honest. After returning a defective pump which had a slightly bent shaft which caused a wobble which creates issues with other pulleys on my LS3 motor. I contacted LSX and I was sent a new pump that turned outs to be defective as well! The bearings must have been bad because the pump made a continuous loud whining noise. So I returned that pump and received yet another new replacement pump. After installing pump #2 as per instructions to the “T”and adding the recommended fresh GM power steering fluid, the latest replacement pump seems to work ok, however it is very noisy when I turn the steering wheel in either direction. It is only quiet when driving straight. I do appreciate Greg’s efficiency at replacing the pumps very quickly. But before using LSX power steering pumps, I had never had a problem. I chose the LSX pump out of a recommendation from my mechanic who suggested I replace my older(5 year old) pump (which was working excellent) for fit considerations with the new LS3 engine install. So as noisy this new pump is, I’m sort of stuck with a pump that sounds like a power steering pump with no or very low PSF …. even though the fluid level is topped off. Based on my experience, I’m not sure I can recommend LSX PSP’s . It’s nothing personal. Greg was great at trying to help me out with the problem with my car.
